Personality: Amaliana acts as if every single word she speaks will be taken with great weight behind it. Every action is calculated, every move rehearsed. Even in the darkest of times during the Reaper invasion she tried to stay positive about everything. A paragon to those around her she always does what is right no matter the cost to herself. She would not open up to others except those that are closest to her aka the crew of the Normandy and her squadmates. She imbues those around her with an unknown quality, that of a leader they are willing follow to hell itself with. During each of her suicide missions she has made it through with minimal or no casualties. This has given her an air when around others of awe and respect.
History:
Amaliana Shepard was born on a frigate of the Alliance to her mother Hannah Shepard. Never spending more than a year or two aboard any ships she never had much of a normal childhood but she did the best she could. She would follow in her parents footsteps though and would enlist on her eighteenth birthday. On that day she made her parents exsctatic at her choice to follow them and they gave her a full blessing and wished her luck.
It was not long after she completed basic training than she was stationed on the planet of Elysium. There with her limited knowledge, firepower, and yet high level of skill with both she overcame the odds and defeated an overwhelming pirate attack upon the colony. She rallied the support of any able bodied man and woman and with their help held off the combined pirate fleets until she has relieved by an Alliance counterattack. This caught the eye of the Alliance Brass who instantly put her through the N7 training program. Finishing the program she was placed by Executive Order on her most fateful trip ever. The trip to test out the Normandy SR1 on its shakedown run.
Onboard the Normandy Shepard was enjoying the news she had been selected to become a candidate to join the Spectres when they where interrupted. Eden Prime was under attack and they where the only ship that could respond. So they did entering into a battle that would consume and kill the commander once. The Battle against the Reapers themselves. On Eden Prime she would run into Ashley Willams a Gunnery Seargent who would assist her squad in fighting through the Geth and Husks that litered the colony. Just outside the spaceport they would diffuse bombs meant to level the colony and Shepard would have an encounter she could not forget. Kaiden Alenko would step in front of a large Prothean Beacon and as he was slowly being drawn into the air Shepard would be knocked unconsious while receiving a message from the long dead Protheans. A warning of something to come.
Returning to the Citadel she was told nothing could be done to Saren who she had found out was behind the attack on Eden Prime without proof. So she searched for the proof with the assistance of Garrus Vakarian and a large angry krogan by the name of Urdnot Wrex. Finding out that a Quarian held the information that would prove Saren was dirty Shepard arrived to save her life from severl would be assassins. Showing the evidence she was given the honor of the first human Spectre and given the task of hunting Saren down.
So she was given the Normandy SR1 by Anderson as her personal flagship to track down Saren quickly. So that is what Shepard did, her first move though would prove to be a fateful one. Stopping at a Prothean digsite she would run into an asari. The Doctor Liara T'Soni daughter of Matriach Benezia an acolyte of Sarens. Saving her from the Prothean Ruins and then from a hit squad of Sarens gained a sliver of trust from the Asari. Once back aboard the Normandy Liara assisted Shepard with understanding a little of the jumbled message. This created a link between the two of them that would become only stronger as they went after Liara's mother. Tracking her to Noverria she would track Matriach Benezia to a heavily damaged research facility. In an intense fight they would learn that Saren was controlling people through his ship. After a short battle when the indoctrination forced Benezia to attack Shepard would strike the fateful blow and send the Matriach to her death in her own daughters arms.
Through the tears of that moment Shepards heart ached for the asari behind her as she approached and then spoke to a Rachni. Releasing the creature into the wilds was a wise move as it would someday return to promise it made to assist Shepard in a war she did not know was slowly developing. After returning to the ship Shepard consoled Liara on the death of her mother and gave the first signals that she may be falling for the young asari scientist. There was no time for that though as they went off to Feros. There they met a creature named the Thorian after stopping the left behind Geth and exposing Exo Geni's research. Fighting through the swath of Thorian Creepers, Shepard, Liara, and Tali Zorah would manage to kill the Thorian sending it down into the depths of the ancient city they inhabited. After defeating it she was given something known as the Cipher from an Asari named Shiala.
There next step was to head to the planet of Virmire. All the while between these missions Shepard would gain the loyalty of her crew by finishing unfinished business they had. During this time she woudl run into the group Cerberus for the first times in her life. Unknowing to her they would become really important to her in the near future. On the planet of Virmire she talked down her krogan friend from being shot to death, found out that Sarens flagship was something known as a Reaper and it was going to activate something that would destroy the galaxy, destroyed Sarens research Facility, managed to rescue the STG team that was there, but with all the positives the one negative outweighed it all. She lost one of her team, Kaiden Alenko died there when the nuclear blast was used to destory the research facility.
Upon returning to the Citadel she found out where she needed to go to find the object of Sarens obsession and it was to the planet Ilos through the Mu Relay. Upon retaking her ship from an override placed there from Ambassador Udina, Shepard headed out toward Ilos. On the trip Shepard let down her guard when it came to pursuing Liara and the two of them shared each others company until they reached the Mass Relay and headed to Ilos. There they ran into Vigil who explained what the Conduit was and wished them luck in stopping Saren. So they chased Saren all the way to the Conduit which took them back to the Citadel when activated. Fighting through the damaged Citadel, Shepard, Liara and Tali made it to Saren. Once there Shepard made Saren see that his tactics where useless and instead of fighting with Shepard he shot himself. Opening the arms of the Citadel Shepard assisted by sending out the order to save the Destiny Ascension who had the council aboard. No sooner had those orders left her mouth than Soverign resurrected the corpse of Saren and Shepard toppled down and they fought the ressurected Saren. Defeating it caused Soverigns shields to drop and allowed the Fifth Fleet to punch a hole in and then destroy Soverign. Pieces of the Reaper would fall into the Council Tower and nearly kill Shepard and her team. Only to have Captain Anderson save first her companions and then her wounded self.
After placing her faith in Captain Anderson as the first Councilor for humanity Shepard headed out to go fight and prepare for the incoming Reapers. Her cover was she was out to clean up remaining pockets of Geth. It was out in an outlying part of the Omega Nebula that the Normandy SR1 was ambushed by the Collectors. As the ship crumbled around them Shepard would order a full evacuation. That included the one person she wished to see safe over most the rest Liara. Heading to the cockpit of the ship she managed to rescue Joker just before the Collectors beam split the cockpit in half. The attack caused her to go spinning off into space after bouncing off a bulkhead and puncturing her suit. So slowly she would leak air out of the suit and she would feel the dark, blackness of death overwhelm her. Her last thoughts where of the ones she was leaving behind and then she could not see anything or anyone anymore.
Then she awoke as if from a bad dream. It was hazy and there where people speaking about her. Like she was some object. Trying to move she found herself unable to do so. It was a brief encounter as she drifted back to the blackness of her mind. The next time she awoke she felt sore and shooting pain all across her body, but these feelings where shook from her as the station she was on was rocked by explosives. Waking up she was told by a voice calling herself Miranda to gear up at a nearby locker and head out. Which Shepard did, running into Jacob Taylor along the way to meet Miranda and escape the station. Which was only accomplished after she shot another member of the team, a man by the name of Wilson and calling him a traitor to Cerberus.
She would follow these two Cerberus agents to a station and would meet the Illusive Man for the first time in her life. Not trusting of him or his methods Shepard concluded to do what he asked for now. Heading to Freedom's Progress she woudl run into an old friend Tali Zorah and would gain her help in quelling the hacked mechs of the colony. There she would discover her target an enigmatic group that went by the name 'The Collectors."
She was given dossiers on several people the Illusive Man said would assist in the hunt for the Collectors. So Shepard headed out, Quelling a Plague on Omega and gaining the support of Mordin Solus. Reacquiring a Black Box and gaining the loyalty of Kasumi Goto. Finding out the truth of the Blue Suns and gaining Zaeed Masanis loyalty. Fighting her way through a Blue Suns controlled base to rescue Warlord Okeer only to be given his tank bred Krogan upon death and releasing said Krogan named 'Grunt'. She then rescued an old crew member from certain death and reacquired the services of Garrus Vakarian. Then she would land at and then fight through the Prison Ship Purgatory upon leaving she would acquire the services of the biotic Subject Zero Jack.
That is when the Illusive Man would contact him about an attack on the colony of Horizon and that they would need to get there fast. Which Shepard did, finding the Collectors and interrupting their abductions yet still most of the colonists had been taken. On Horizon she ran into Ashley Williams. After an exchange they parted ways without many words spoken. Returning to the Normandy she would receive a new batch of dossiers for possible recruits. So she continued her hunt all the while assisting the members of her crew with personal issues and gaining their loyalties.
First came Talizorah on the planet of Haestrom. Fighting through the Geth there Shepard saved the life of another Quarian name Kal Reegar. Then she headed out to Illium. Upon landing she found out that Liara had paid for their fees and where waiting for them in her office. It made her apprehensive about seeing Liara once again. She summoned up her courage though and went to visit Liara not expecting what was to happen. When Liara approached her and planted a kiss on her Shepard relaxed. Learning information about two of her contacts that where on Illium Shepard thanked Liara and then assisted her doing two tasks. The first being to hack terminals for information on the Shadow Broker, the second was hacking into terminals to gain information on a Shadow Broker Agent. Shepard gave her the information and then told her that the agent was not male which raised Liara's eye. After recruiting both Samara and Thane Krios Shepard would return to find Liara without her assistant anymore. Who found out that she had been the agent.
Then she was contacted by the Illusive Man about the Collectors ship spotted floating with no emissions coming from it near the end of a small system. Nearing it they boarded the beast and managed to scour information from the computers within. Including one shocking statement. The Collectors had at one point been the Protheans. This infuriated her but she kept her cool and headed to their control unti and plugged EDI in. Allowing her access to the Collectors entire database. She then had to fight her way out of the ship and back to the shuttle and then to the Normandy. Getting out of there by the skin of their teeth.
Shepard would thank Liara by returning a few hours later with information fed to her about someone who may know the Shadow Brokers whereabouts. Following through with the lead led Shepard and Liara into multiple dangerous and deadly locations. Including Shepard believing that Liara had died in a large explosion. That thought had brought out a fury and a rage she had not felt since fighting in Elysium. She slaughtered the Shadow Brokers troops throughout that tower to get to the office where Liara had been. Upon arriving and only finding the fellow Spectre who had accompanied them there she was relieved that Liara's body was not there.
That is when Liara did appear and explained that the Spectre was working with the Shadow Broker. In an instant the other Spectre turned on Shepard and the two tumbled out of a window landing on the ground hard. Struggling to stand Shepard watched as Liara tore past her after the Asari Spectre. Chasing after them Shepard caught up to Liara and then they shot after the Spectre. Chasing her across Illium they made her crash land and then chased her on foot. Cornering the Spectre Shepard took down this rogue Spectre. Then Shepard attempted to stop Liara from following in her mothers footsteps and becoming twisted in her course for revenge. In her heart she felt like grabbing Liara and shaking her. To being her back to the innocent woman she had fallen for about two and a half years earlier. At every step of the way Shepard would act as the morale compass as they made it to the Shadow Brokers ship and then delved into its depths to fight the man himself. Who turned out to be a Yahg, a large beast like creature that are confined to their home planets.
There they fought the Shadow Broker in two on one combat. Liara and Shepard against the mountain of a beast that was the Shadow Broker. It was a dance of death between them as Shepard would draw his fire for a minute than Liara would attack with biotics. Back and forth it went until the Broker used some shielding ability which nothing could penetrate. So Shepard went in and started swinging away punching the massive Yahg square in the face with her first swing. They did this once more before Shepard noticed something they could use to their advantage. A third battle occurred with Shepard shoulder charging the Yahg only to be tossed backwards behind Liara. Screaming out for Liara to do it she watched as Liara cracked and then drew out the power from a nearby conduit and disintegrated the Yahg. As soon as it died Shepard went to check on Garrus who had followed them there, but who had been knocked out at the start of the fight. Turning around she found Liara standing before the Shadow Brokers console who was speaking into it. Taking over his network was a stroke of genius but Amaliana decided to speak with Liara as she did both Garrus and Feron walked out of the room. Taking this opprotunity to be with Liara one on one she let her speak for a minute about the two of them and how it had been two years between the two of them. Without saying a word Shepard would close the distance and hug Liara and then kiss her. Proving to Liara that she wished to stay with her she left to continue her mission after having a final night with Liara.
Heading out to a derelict reaper she found the Reaper IFF they needed to retrieve and also found an intact Geth unit who she befriended. It had the name of Legion and would assist Shepard in rewriting all the the heretical geth in the galaxy. No sooner had they finished that mission than they received a distress call. The Collectors had attacked the Normandy SR2 but did not blow it up instead they captured the entire crew other than Joker. Who after allowing Edi to control the ship managed to escape them. Returning to the ship Shepard immediately sought out after the Collectors through the Omega 4 Relay. Fighting through their defenses the Normandy crashed onto the base with all hands accounted for. There Shepard gathered the team together and they formulated a plan to infiltrate the base get their people, destroy the base and get home. Which they did through sheer grit and determination they fought through the base to the apex. Planted the bomb that would destroy the place, killed an infant human reaper and then escaped back to the galaxy at large. Shepard completed two final missions. One was a mission to liberate a research facility from Cerberus control. Fighting through waves of synthetics she would rescue a mentally challenged boy from his restraints and brought him to the Grissom Academy for the Gifted.
After that she was contacted by Admiral Hackett. There was a mission to rescue a deep cover operative in Batarian Space. Shepard did this mission for Hackett as a favor and headed in. Once there she received proof that the Reapers where about to use this far outpost as a launching point for an invasion of the galaxy. Heading to an asteroid near the batarian colony she learned that all the inhabitants had been indoctrinated. They captured her and kept her sedated for almost two days. Shepard managed to wake up and with little than a few hours left before the Reapers got there and crashed the asteroid into the Mass Relay escaping barely in front of the explosion. After the debrief with Admiral Hackett she headed to Earth to face the music. They grounded her for the next three months as they prepared for the upcoming war that most had become convinced was coming and to dissuade the Batarians from attacking the Systems Alliance.
Then came the day that the battle came to Earth itself. Shepard had been summoned to the main chamber of the Earth Defense Commitee. She was there as suddenly Luna lost contact with Earth and then the building shook. Looking out the large windows at the back of the chamber her eyes would widen and she would visible shake. The Reapers had arrived and it was time to fight. An explosions ripped apart the room and she was tossed back against a nearby wall. Regaining her bearings her and Admiral Anderson made their way out of the ruined building and out to a spot for the Normandy to pick them up. After fighitng through several waves of Husks and Cannibals they arrived at a port where the Normandy picked her up. All the while Shepard had attempted to rescue a young boy who as the Normandy was lifting off got into an evac shuttle only to have it shot down in front of her.
Immediately they where contacted by Admiral Hackett who ordered them to go to Mars and get Dr T'Soni from the Prothean ARchives there. Arriving at the archives Shepard would find them under attack from Cerberus. She was trembling from a combination of anger and dread. Knowing how ruthless Cerberus was toward aliens and the fact that Liara was on the station made her move just that little bit more urgently. Fighting off several patrol squads she fought into the archives. Upon entering she would not see anyone and a feeling of dread would come over her until Liara came bursting forth from a duct. Catching the Cerberus agents with a singularity she would then shoot both of them with ease and drop down to greet Shepard and Ashley Williams who accompanied Shepard to the archives. They then made there way through the Archives to find the blueprints to a Prothean super weapon they dubbed 'The Crucible'. Running into a cyborg entity 'Eva' they chased and fought her til she reached a shuttle and was about to take off. From nowhere on orders from Shepard her shuttle pilot JAmes Vega would come in and crash into the other shuttle damaging it. The group would close in and Ashely would take point only to get injured by the robot to the point of near death. Shepard and Liara would unload into the robot until it stopped moving. Shepard would pick up Ashley's body and bring her back to the Citadel for medical treatment.
Once on the Citadel Commander Shepard would stand before the Council and basically yell at them telling them she was right. All those years ago she was correct and now the whole galaxy would have to pay the price for their inaction on the subject. It was time for them to band together or die as individuals. The council agreed with her, but would not pledge any resources to retaking Earth quite yet. Afterwards she was pulled aside by the Turian Councilor and told to head to the moons of Palaven, rescue their primarch and get help from him. So Shepard completed a few odd jobs on the Citadel gaining support where she could for the war and then headed out to the moons of Palaven. Landing on the moon she would find the turian encampment finding out the old primarch was dead and she was to head out and rescue the new primarch who was a general defending a flank position. So she fought her way there with a returning partner in crime Garrus Vakarian who knew the best path across the no mans land. Finding the turian he had a single request go and get the krogans assistance. So Shepard left the moon with the primarch and headed to pick up Urdnot Wrex the head of the Tuchanka's krogan.
The Krogan had a simple soloution then they would join the war and assist the Turians, and that was to cure the genophage. Shepard twisted arms and managed to find Mordin Solus who had been working on a cure and believed he had the cure ready to go. Helping the doctor escort a fertile female krogan off of Sar'Kesh the salarian homeworld she got into a running firefight with Cereberus who was attempting to kill the female to stop the krogan from entering the war. Fighting them off they returned to Tuchanka and Mordin came through with the cure. Running in a constant battle against a solitary Reaper that had landed on the planet Shepard would eventually activate two large Thresher Maw hammers summoning the legendary Thresher Maw Mother 'Kalros'. The massive Thresher Maw would coil around crushing the Reaper and clearing the way to the Shroud Facility where Mordin sacrifices himself to distribute the cure for the genophage across all of Tuchanka. With this done Shepard gained the trust of both the Krogan and the Turian people and military. Who pledged to be there for the battle against the Reapers on Earth.
After returning to the Citadel and doing more odds and ends to shore up more supplies for the war she would head back out on a mission to the Attican Traverse to assist a krogan specialist team. The target was the old homeworld of the Rachni as the Rachni Relay had some interesting information that possible that the Rachni had returned. Landing on the planet she was greeted by Grunt the krogan who had traveled with her to defeat the Collectros three months earlier. Fighting down through slews of Reaper mutated rachni to the very core of the hive they ran into the Rachni Queen herself. Telling Shepard that the Reapers had come and twisted her offspring and pledging to make good on the promise she made Shepard back on Noverria to fight them if she was let go. That is was Shepard did she would not doom a race to extinction for past mistakes. Returning to the Normandy she would have a terrible nightmare about the child she was unable to save on Earth. This is second time she was haunted by these dreams, and it would not be the last.
Upon flying back to the Citadel she realized something was wrong. There was no answer from the comms or the docks. Hearing from Thane that the Citadel was under attack from Cerberus Shepard takes a team in to rescue the council from the obvious Cerberus death traps. Dropping right outside of C-Sec HQ she manages to save the life of Commander Bailey who helps her through the building. Upon reaching the salarian councilor he would be attacked by an assassin by the name of Kai Leng. That is when Thane arrives and stops the assassination attempt but not before telling the team where to go to find the other councilors. Moving as fast as they could Shepard and her team catch up to them as the where about to leave in Udina's shuttle. Shepard manages to convince Ashley that she was not behind any of this and was coming up here to save the Council. When Udina made a move to attack the other councilors Shepard did not hesitate and shot the man dead in his tracks.
As she helped the Citadel rebuild some she would receive a transmission from the Quarian Admirals. They needed assistance as they have attempted to retake their homeworld only to be stopped by Reaper controlled Geth. Curious as to what happened to Legions intentions to turn the Geth into fighting the Reapers she would head out and meet the Quarian leadership. She was surprised when they introduced Tali in as an admiral as the last time she had been with her people Shepard had argued for her to stay in the fleet. So they would fight into a large Geth Dreadnaught that was defending and holding position over the planet. Infiltrating it alongside Tali and Liara she would fight in and expose the core. Showing the frame of her old squadmate Legion who left the device after being released by Shepard from its grasp. With the assistance of Legion Shepard would succeed in taking down the Dreadnaught. Afterwards she would assist in taking down a squadron of Geth fighters and recovering many high level geth prime units. Sending them to assist on the Crucible they woudl receive word as to a crashed admiral's location. She would rescue Admiral Koris from a Geth attack and he would help keep the Quarian Civilian Forces together inside the protection of the fleet main fleet.
Then came what they had all come to Rannoch to do, reclaim the homeworld for the Quarian people. So they would have to take down a Reaper Base that is holding the Geth in orbit from obeying Legions commands. Fighting through the base to a location Shepard would paint the target for a bombing run on the target. When the attack occurred it was revealed that the base was not really a base. It was a Reaper in disguise. With this revelation she would stand on a cliff nearby and target the Reaper for a full bombardment on the Reaper. Dodging its laser once and then twice the targeting laser would paint the weak spot. Upon locking on the Normandy alongside the entire Quarian flotilla would unload upon the Reaper. Taking it down in a hail of cannon fire. The Reaper woudl taunt Shepard as it slowly was deactivated. As soon as it was over Shepard allowed Legion to upload his consiousness to the other Geth. Talking down the Quarian fleet Shepard managed to get both the Quarians and Geth to work together in both their home planet and in the upcoming war on the Reapers. At the end of this Tali rejoined the Normandy's crew and would assist Shepard directly the rest of her mission against the Reapers.
Whenever Shepard finished the situation and gained the combined resources of the Geth and Quarian people she was summoned back to the Citadel by the asari councilor. She would meet the councilor in the former human councilors office. She was informed that there was something on the Asari homeworld of Thessia that she should go see. IT was a PRothean Beacon within a Temple dedicated to their oldest goddess. Liara insisted upon coming along with this mission as it was her home and she wished to be there. When they entered the system she saw something she had hoped she wouldnt. Thessia was burning. The Reapers had made it there first. A hurried rush started building up within Shepard. She had to get to this beacon and activate it and find out what it is she set out to find out. What the Catalyst was and how it could be used. Fighting her way across a bridge, through multiple banshees, Shepard and Liara would arrive at the Temple. Disabling the security they would make it inside rather easily.
After scouting around the area they would find out the activation points for the beacon. Checking every piece of artwork they would slowly activate it. Upon activation Shepard would speak with the VI that was protecting this beacon. She was about to gain the knowledge she came there for when Cerberus made its presence known. Kai Leng was there to take the information and there was nothing Shepard could do to stop it. So a battle commenced directly in front of the beacon. They where evenly matched until a Cerberus gunship stepped in giving Kai Leng the advantage. Destroying the floor beneath Shepard they nearly killed her but she hung unto a platform of cement and climbed out as Kai Leng walked away victorious. Out of range of her gun Shepard would fire blindly at him missing him wildly as he vanished into the Thessian sky. AS she looked she would see more Reapers dropping from orbit down onto the planets surface. Shepard would collapse forward onto her knees and stare out at the destruction for a minute before Liara would shake her out of her stupor and they would get shuttle evacuated out of there. On the trip back and when she spoke to the Asari councilor she felt a deep sense of failure. A feeling she had not felt since Eden Prime just two years earlier.
No sooner had she stopped speaking with the councilor than she decided to check in on Liara. As she knew how hard it was to see her home burn so she could sympathize with Liara at this moment. Entering her quarters she would see Liara sitting on her bed obvious tears upon her face. Walking over to her Shepard would sit down on the bed beside Liara. Without saying anything Shepard would put her arms around Liara and say one simple thing. "I am sorry Liara.... I am so sorry." Her voice would be full of regret and internal strife over the conflicting feelings she had. There was a part of her that just wished to run away from all of this. Yet there was a part of her that screamed to stay and finish this fight through til the end. Though at this moment she just wished to be there for Liara. After they both spoke Shepard would leave the room and head up find a suspicious email. It was from Oriana Lawson Miranda's sister. Something about Sanctuary being a Cerberus cover base. Shepard would contact Hackett with this news and would agree to finish off Cerberus once and for all.
Heading to Horizon once again was bittersweet for Shepard. There she had fought the Collectors just a few short months earlier. Now she was back and she was going to clean this place of Cerberus once and for all. Fighting into the Sanctuary building she would run into recording from Miranda Lawson. They explained what was going on in there. Luckily for her on the last trip to the Citadel Shepard had warned her that Kai Leng was fully operational and might be coming for her. So Miranda was able to defend herself for long enough so that Shepard could fight her way through the Cerberus created Reaper troops. Fighting up to there she would find out Kai Leng had ran away but Miranda's father was holding Oriana hostage. Shepard agreed to let him go if he handed over Oriana but the moment she was away from him Miranda would throw him through the safety glass and to his death.
Handing over to Shepard a tracking device Shepard thanked Miranda and knew this was it. It was time to finish off Cerberus and then focus on the Reapers as they where the real threat the entire time. After speaking with Admiral Hackett who told Shepard that when they attacked the base they would have to begin the end of this war Shepard would nod to him. Understanding completely what was at stake Shepard would retire to her quarters. Sitting up there Shepard began reflecting on what was going on in the galaxy and what all was riding on this mission succeeding when there was a digital knock at her door. Through the door came Liara. The two of them began to talk about the war and what the outcome may be. After a few minutes of that she was reminded of what she had promised Liara before she went through the Omega 4 relay. To come back, retire and have many blue babies. Remembering saying that to Liara Shepard would grab Liara's hand tightly and tell her. "We will get through this Liara... We will see that future I promised you... And I love you Liara." They both confessed their love to one another and yet again they shared a night together. This time however Shepard would awaken from the same terrible recurring dream she had been having. This time though she had Liara to ease her mind after waking up. With a smile on her face she would give Liara a kiss than start getting ready for this final battle.
Then came the attack on the base. With the Fifth Fleet there to distract the main Cerberus cruisers Shepard snuck aboard the station with EDI and Liara. There they fought through wave after wave of Cerberus troopers until making it to the very core of the station. There she found the room she had found herself in while talking to the Illusive man during her time working with him. Sitting in his chair she would begin diving into the records to find what she needed only to be interrupted by the Illusive Man, and after some back forth Kai Leng would appear. This time there would be no running, and no mercy was shown. Shepard would fight him killing any Cerberus Troopers that would get between her and Kai Leng. After shooting him down she would sit back down in the Illusive Man's chair and pull up the information she needed. As she did so Kai Leng would attempt to kill her. Dodging his attack she would allow him the honor of meeting her omniblade. With a "This is for Thane you son of a bitch." She would kill Kai Leng without a second thought.
Pulling the data from the VI she realized that it was the Citadel that was the Catalyst for the Crucible. Telling Hackett this they where interrupted by Anderson who told them that the Citadel was over Earth and in order to do their plan they would have to enter some Conduitesque device the Reapers had constructed. So the destination was set, head to London England and defeat the Reapers there. So they gathered all the fleets of the galaxy into the largest armada in the history of galactic civilization. They all relayed in and started moving toward Earth. In the greatest space battle ever the Reapers would run into the full might of the galactic armada. Many Reapers and many vessels where destroyed as the Normandy flew in and launched Shepard and her entire team down to Earth. The shuttle pilot would return to the Normandy as soon as he had dropped them off. Fighting through many husks, cannibals, and marauders Shepard would take down a Hades Canon. Then she would get reunited with Admiral Anderson for the first time in months. After a brief run through of whats goign on Shepard was allowed a moment to speak to each member of the squad. Which she did one at a time including those that where not there in person. After the plan was set right Shepard would gather her team and give her final speech as the commanding officer. Then came the fight for all their lives. Garrus and Liara accompanied her down into the streets and through the buildings of Earth until they reached a pair of missle batteries. The first shot off and missed wildly. The second after heavy heavy resistance was fired and took down a Reaper Dreadnaught.
Regrouping at the top of a hill Shepard would catch her breath with Admiral Anderson and others that had made it there. As the final charge was about to begin Shepard would see Harbinger land and in an almost taunting manner begin shooting at each of the vehicles, people, anything that moved inside the area. Unknown to Shepard was that her teammates had not followed her and she had charged ahead without any backup. That is when she would be hit with a glancing blow from Harbringer and in her mind the truth and reality split. As she awoke with a Carnifex in her hand and she would make her way toward the beam. Taking down a few husks and then a final marauder before making it inside. Once inside the Citadel she would be confronted by Anderson and the Illusive Man. The Illusive Man was fully indoctrinated and was attempting to do that same with Shepard. It worked as she fired a single shot into Andersons gut and the Illusive Man after some persuading would blow himself away. Shortly after this event the Citadel would open, the Crucible would connect with the station. It would not fire so Shepard would try and activate the mechanism. She would collapse before the console and be lifted into a new area. An AI disguised at the young child would appear before Shepard. There she would be given three choices the first was to attempt control of the Reapers, the second was to combine all organic and inorganic life in the galaxy, the final option was to destroy all inorganic life in the galaxy. Shepard was conflicted her heart twisted in knots but knowing that anything less than the destruction of the Reapers would bring them back to the galaxy. So she would move slowly toward the destroy the Reapers option. As she walked up to the power conduit she would close her eyes and say "I am sorry Liara... I guess I will have to break my promise to give you those lil blue children..." The words would be spoken and she would walk forward with each bullet she would see people from her life she was saving. Joker, Ashley, Garrus, Wrex, Eve, Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Grunt, Javik, James, Everyone else she had met, and lastly as she the bullet left her gun and impacted with the tube she saw Liara's smiling face in front of her. The force of the explosion would knock her off her feet and stuff would crumble down upon her. But to Shepard she would be able to die happy as she had saved Liara's life allowing her to live a happy long life.
That would not be the end of the Commander though as she would feel a sharp breath of air enter her lungs and she would be found underneath rubble a few minutes later by Liara T'Soni. Being dragged from the rubble and taken to the closest medical station in her charred and disfigured armor Shepard was lucky to be alive. During the trip back unconsiously she would speak out Liara's name as if she was stuck in an endless dream that she was never to awaken from...
Roleplay Example
A loud crash, a pressing almost crushing feeling spreading over Shepards body. Then came the familiar warm gushing feeling of blood escaping a wound. Struggling she tried to reach her omni tool but could not reach it. So there would be no using Medi Gel and fixing this wound until more help could be reached. As her mind slowly started to slip from the blood loss she would feel the crushing be removed from her body. Then came a few muffled voices, two in particular she recognized. Moving her arm she attempted to reach for them. Feeling on her arm a pair of strong hand she heard a man with a thick accent say. "I got ya Lola stay with us..."
Weakly Shepard would look up her face caked in her own blood and dirt. Her eyes would be slowly closing and she would see Liara. A faint smile would creep onto her face before she would pass out into the blackness that was soon to be a nightmare filled hell for Shepard. While in her mind she was stuck in that forest of despair her body was fighting hard to stay alive. Dr Chakwas and Dr Michel both worked on her feverishly fixing the massive internal injuries Shepard had taken. So there she laid on a bed for several months every now and again she would stir but nothing came of it until one night two months after the final battle agains the Reapers.
First her hand twitched once, then twice. Then her eyelids slowly opened and she saw the darkened interior of her hospital room. She felt the soft blankets over her form. Then it hit her the dull pain of her entire body screaming at her. Gritting her teeth she would grimace and slowly and gingerly sit up. Scanning the room she would notice that she was alone within what looked like a recovery room. Her head ached from this so she began to search for something. Looking around she would find a call a nurse button and depress it. A VI voice would emit from the bed. "What is it you require Commander Shepard?"
"I would like... to notify some people... That I am awake. First bring me something to drink my mouth feels quite dry... Then could you contact... Liara T'Soni. Then if there is anyone from the records that where on the Normandy with me nearby. Contact them as well." As Amaliana spoke it was tough at first as her throat was sore from no use, but slowly loosened up. The Vi chirped back in an understanding tone then vanished. Shepard then would lean back into the bed thankful to be alive after what she went through."

Personality: Amaliana acts as if every single word she speaks will be taken with great weight behind it. Every action is calculated, every move rehearsed. Even in the darkest of times during the Reaper invasion she tried to stay positive about everything. A paragon to those around her she always does what is right no matter the cost to herself. She would not open up to others except those that are closest to her aka the crew of the Normandy and her squadmates. She imbues those around her with an unknown quality, that of a leader they are willing follow to hell itself with. During each of her suicide missions she has made it through with minimal or no casualties. This has given her an air when around others of awe and respect.
History:
Amaliana Shepard was born on a frigate of the Alliance to her mother Hannah Shepard. Never spending more than a year or two aboard any ships she never had much of a normal childhood but she did the best she could. She would follow in her parents footsteps though and would enlist on her eighteenth birthday. On that day she made her parents exsctatic at her choice to follow them and they gave her a full blessing and wished her luck.
It was not long after she completed basic training than she was stationed on the planet of Elysium. There with her limited knowledge, firepower, and yet high level of skill with both she overcame the odds and defeated an overwhelming pirate attack upon the colony. She rallied the support of any able bodied man and woman and with their help held off the combined pirate fleets until she has relieved by an Alliance counterattack. This caught the eye of the Alliance Brass who instantly put her through the N7 training program. Finishing the program she was placed by Executive Order on her most fateful trip ever. The trip to test out the Normandy SR1 on its shakedown run.
Onboard the Normandy Shepard was enjoying the news she had been selected to become a candidate to join the Spectres when they where interrupted. Eden Prime was under attack and they where the only ship that could respond. So they did entering into a battle that would consume and kill the commander once. The Battle against the Reapers themselves. On Eden Prime she would run into Ashley Willams a Gunnery Seargent who would assist her squad in fighting through the Geth and Husks that litered the colony. Just outside the spaceport they would diffuse bombs meant to level the colony and Shepard would have an encounter she could not forget. Kaiden Alenko would step in front of a large Prothean Beacon and as he was slowly being drawn into the air Shepard would be knocked unconsious while receiving a message from the long dead Protheans. A warning of something to come.
Returning to the Citadel she was told nothing could be done to Saren who she had found out was behind the attack on Eden Prime without proof. So she searched for the proof with the assistance of Garrus Vakarian and a large angry krogan by the name of Urdnot Wrex. Finding out that a Quarian held the information that would prove Saren was dirty Shepard arrived to save her life from severl would be assassins. Showing the evidence she was given the honor of the first human Spectre and given the task of hunting Saren down.
So she was given the Normandy SR1 by Anderson as her personal flagship to track down Saren quickly. So that is what Shepard did, her first move though would prove to be a fateful one. Stopping at a Prothean digsite she would run into an asari. The Doctor Liara T'Soni daughter of Matriach Benezia an acolyte of Sarens. Saving her from the Prothean Ruins and then from a hit squad of Sarens gained a sliver of trust from the Asari. Once back aboard the Normandy Liara assisted Shepard with understanding a little of the jumbled message. This created a link between the two of them that would become only stronger as they went after Liara's mother. Tracking her to Noverria she would track Matriach Benezia to a heavily damaged research facility. In an intense fight they would learn that Saren was controlling people through his ship. After a short battle when the indoctrination forced Benezia to attack Shepard would strike the fateful blow and send the Matriach to her death in her own daughters arms.
Through the tears of that moment Shepards heart ached for the asari behind her as she approached and then spoke to a Rachni. Releasing the creature into the wilds was a wise move as it would someday return to promise it made to assist Shepard in a war she did not know was slowly developing. After returning to the ship Shepard consoled Liara on the death of her mother and gave the first signals that she may be falling for the young asari scientist. There was no time for that though as they went off to Feros. There they met a creature named the Thorian after stopping the left behind Geth and exposing Exo Geni's research. Fighting through the swath of Thorian Creepers, Shepard, Liara, and Tali Zorah would manage to kill the Thorian sending it down into the depths of the ancient city they inhabited. After defeating it she was given something known as the Cipher from an Asari named Shiala.
There next step was to head to the planet of Virmire. All the while between these missions Shepard would gain the loyalty of her crew by finishing unfinished business they had. During this time she woudl run into the group Cerberus for the first times in her life. Unknowing to her they would become really important to her in the near future. On the planet of Virmire she talked down her krogan friend from being shot to death, found out that Sarens flagship was something known as a Reaper and it was going to activate something that would destroy the galaxy, destroyed Sarens research Facility, managed to rescue the STG team that was there, but with all the positives the one negative outweighed it all. She lost one of her team, Kaiden Alenko died there when the nuclear blast was used to destory the research facility.
Upon returning to the Citadel she found out where she needed to go to find the object of Sarens obsession and it was to the planet Ilos through the Mu Relay. Upon retaking her ship from an override placed there from Ambassador Udina, Shepard headed out toward Ilos. On the trip Shepard let down her guard when it came to pursuing Liara and the two of them shared each others company until they reached the Mass Relay and headed to Ilos. There they ran into Vigil who explained what the Conduit was and wished them luck in stopping Saren. So they chased Saren all the way to the Conduit which took them back to the Citadel when activated. Fighting through the damaged Citadel, Shepard, Liara and Tali made it to Saren. Once there Shepard made Saren see that his tactics where useless and instead of fighting with Shepard he shot himself. Opening the arms of the Citadel Shepard assisted by sending out the order to save the Destiny Ascension who had the council aboard. No sooner had those orders left her mouth than Soverign resurrected the corpse of Saren and Shepard toppled down and they fought the ressurected Saren. Defeating it caused Soverigns shields to drop and allowed the Fifth Fleet to punch a hole in and then destroy Soverign. Pieces of the Reaper would fall into the Council Tower and nearly kill Shepard and her team. Only to have Captain Anderson save first her companions and then her wounded self.
After placing her faith in Captain Anderson as the first Councilor for humanity Shepard headed out to go fight and prepare for the incoming Reapers. Her cover was she was out to clean up remaining pockets of Geth. It was out in an outlying part of the Omega Nebula that the Normandy SR1 was ambushed by the Collectors. As the ship crumbled around them Shepard would order a full evacuation. That included the one person she wished to see safe over most the rest Liara. Heading to the cockpit of the ship she managed to rescue Joker just before the Collectors beam split the cockpit in half. The attack caused her to go spinning off into space after bouncing off a bulkhead and puncturing her suit. So slowly she would leak air out of the suit and she would feel the dark, blackness of death overwhelm her. Her last thoughts where of the ones she was leaving behind and then she could not see anything or anyone anymore.
Then she awoke as if from a bad dream. It was hazy and there where people speaking about her. Like she was some object. Trying to move she found herself unable to do so. It was a brief encounter as she drifted back to the blackness of her mind. The next time she awoke she felt sore and shooting pain all across her body, but these feelings where shook from her as the station she was on was rocked by explosives. Waking up she was told by a voice calling herself Miranda to gear up at a nearby locker and head out. Which Shepard did, running into Jacob Taylor along the way to meet Miranda and escape the station. Which was only accomplished after she shot another member of the team, a man by the name of Wilson and calling him a traitor to Cerberus.
She would follow these two Cerberus agents to a station and would meet the Illusive Man for the first time in her life. Not trusting of him or his methods Shepard concluded to do what he asked for now. Heading to Freedom's Progress she woudl run into an old friend Tali Zorah and would gain her help in quelling the hacked mechs of the colony. There she would discover her target an enigmatic group that went by the name 'The Collectors."
She was given dossiers on several people the Illusive Man said would assist in the hunt for the Collectors. So Shepard headed out, Quelling a Plague on Omega and gaining the support of Mordin Solus. Reacquiring a Black Box and gaining the loyalty of Kasumi Goto. Finding out the truth of the Blue Suns and gaining Zaeed Masanis loyalty. Fighting her way through a Blue Suns controlled base to rescue Warlord Okeer only to be given his tank bred Krogan upon death and releasing said Krogan named 'Grunt'. She then rescued an old crew member from certain death and reacquired the services of Garrus Vakarian. Then she would land at and then fight through the Prison Ship Purgatory upon leaving she would acquire the services of the biotic Subject Zero Jack.
That is when the Illusive Man would contact him about an attack on the colony of Horizon and that they would need to get there fast. Which Shepard did, finding the Collectors and interrupting their abductions yet still most of the colonists had been taken. On Horizon she ran into Ashley Williams. After an exchange they parted ways without many words spoken. Returning to the Normandy she would receive a new batch of dossiers for possible recruits. So she continued her hunt all the while assisting the members of her crew with personal issues and gaining their loyalties.
First came Talizorah on the planet of Haestrom. Fighting through the Geth there Shepard saved the life of another Quarian name Kal Reegar. Then she headed out to Illium. Upon landing she found out that Liara had paid for their fees and where waiting for them in her office. It made her apprehensive about seeing Liara once again. She summoned up her courage though and went to visit Liara not expecting what was to happen. When Liara approached her and planted a kiss on her Shepard relaxed. Learning information about two of her contacts that where on Illium Shepard thanked Liara and then assisted her doing two tasks. The first being to hack terminals for information on the Shadow Broker, the second was hacking into terminals to gain information on a Shadow Broker Agent. Shepard gave her the information and then told her that the agent was not male which raised Liara's eye. After recruiting both Samara and Thane Krios Shepard would return to find Liara without her assistant anymore. Who found out that she had been the agent.
Then she was contacted by the Illusive Man about the Collectors ship spotted floating with no emissions coming from it near the end of a small system. Nearing it they boarded the beast and managed to scour information from the computers within. Including one shocking statement. The Collectors had at one point been the Protheans. This infuriated her but she kept her cool and headed to their control unti and plugged EDI in. Allowing her access to the Collectors entire database. She then had to fight her way out of the ship and back to the shuttle and then to the Normandy. Getting out of there by the skin of their teeth.
Shepard would thank Liara by returning a few hours later with information fed to her about someone who may know the Shadow Brokers whereabouts. Following through with the lead led Shepard and Liara into multiple dangerous and deadly locations. Including Shepard believing that Liara had died in a large explosion. That thought had brought out a fury and a rage she had not felt since fighting in Elysium. She slaughtered the Shadow Brokers troops throughout that tower to get to the office where Liara had been. Upon arriving and only finding the fellow Spectre who had accompanied them there she was relieved that Liara's body was not there.
That is when Liara did appear and explained that the Spectre was working with the Shadow Broker. In an instant the other Spectre turned on Shepard and the two tumbled out of a window landing on the ground hard. Struggling to stand Shepard watched as Liara tore past her after the Asari Spectre. Chasing after them Shepard caught up to Liara and then they shot after the Spectre. Chasing her across Illium they made her crash land and then chased her on foot. Cornering the Spectre Shepard took down this rogue Spectre. Then Shepard attempted to stop Liara from following in her mothers footsteps and becoming twisted in her course for revenge. In her heart she felt like grabbing Liara and shaking her. To being her back to the innocent woman she had fallen for about two and a half years earlier. At every step of the way Shepard would act as the morale compass as they made it to the Shadow Brokers ship and then delved into its depths to fight the man himself. Who turned out to be a Yahg, a large beast like creature that are confined to their home planets.
There they fought the Shadow Broker in two on one combat. Liara and Shepard against the mountain of a beast that was the Shadow Broker. It was a dance of death between them as Shepard would draw his fire for a minute than Liara would attack with biotics. Back and forth it went until the Broker used some shielding ability which nothing could penetrate. So Shepard went in and started swinging away punching the massive Yahg square in the face with her first swing. They did this once more before Shepard noticed something they could use to their advantage. A third battle occurred with Shepard shoulder charging the Yahg only to be tossed backwards behind Liara. Screaming out for Liara to do it she watched as Liara cracked and then drew out the power from a nearby conduit and disintegrated the Yahg. As soon as it died Shepard went to check on Garrus who had followed them there, but who had been knocked out at the start of the fight. Turning around she found Liara standing before the Shadow Brokers console who was speaking into it. Taking over his network was a stroke of genius but Amaliana decided to speak with Liara as she did both Garrus and Feron walked out of the room. Taking this opprotunity to be with Liara one on one she let her speak for a minute about the two of them and how it had been two years between the two of them. Without saying a word Shepard would close the distance and hug Liara and then kiss her. Proving to Liara that she wished to stay with her she left to continue her mission after having a final night with Liara.
Heading out to a derelict reaper she found the Reaper IFF they needed to retrieve and also found an intact Geth unit who she befriended. It had the name of Legion and would assist Shepard in rewriting all the the heretical geth in the galaxy. No sooner had they finished that mission than they received a distress call. The Collectors had attacked the Normandy SR2 but did not blow it up instead they captured the entire crew other than Joker. Who after allowing Edi to control the ship managed to escape them. Returning to the ship Shepard immediately sought out after the Collectors through the Omega 4 Relay. Fighting through their defenses the Normandy crashed onto the base with all hands accounted for. There Shepard gathered the team together and they formulated a plan to infiltrate the base get their people, destroy the base and get home. Which they did through sheer grit and determination they fought through the base to the apex. Planted the bomb that would destroy the place, killed an infant human reaper and then escaped back to the galaxy at large. Shepard completed two final missions. One was a mission to liberate a research facility from Cerberus control. Fighting through waves of synthetics she would rescue a mentally challenged boy from his restraints and brought him to the Grissom Academy for the Gifted.
After that she was contacted by Admiral Hackett. There was a mission to rescue a deep cover operative in Batarian Space. Shepard did this mission for Hackett as a favor and headed in. Once there she received proof that the Reapers where about to use this far outpost as a launching point for an invasion of the galaxy. Heading to an asteroid near the batarian colony she learned that all the inhabitants had been indoctrinated. They captured her and kept her sedated for almost two days. Shepard managed to wake up and with little than a few hours left before the Reapers got there and crashed the asteroid into the Mass Relay escaping barely in front of the explosion. After the debrief with Admiral Hackett she headed to Earth to face the music. They grounded her for the next three months as they prepared for the upcoming war that most had become convinced was coming and to dissuade the Batarians from attacking the Systems Alliance.
Then came the day that the battle came to Earth itself. Shepard had been summoned to the main chamber of the Earth Defense Commitee. She was there as suddenly Luna lost contact with Earth and then the building shook. Looking out the large windows at the back of the chamber her eyes would widen and she would visible shake. The Reapers had arrived and it was time to fight. An explosions ripped apart the room and she was tossed back against a nearby wall. Regaining her bearings her and Admiral Anderson made their way out of the ruined building and out to a spot for the Normandy to pick them up. After fighitng through several waves of Husks and Cannibals they arrived at a port where the Normandy picked her up. All the while Shepard had attempted to rescue a young boy who as the Normandy was lifting off got into an evac shuttle only to have it shot down in front of her.
Immediately they where contacted by Admiral Hackett who ordered them to go to Mars and get Dr T'Soni from the Prothean ARchives there. Arriving at the archives Shepard would find them under attack from Cerberus. She was trembling from a combination of anger and dread. Knowing how ruthless Cerberus was toward aliens and the fact that Liara was on the station made her move just that little bit more urgently. Fighting off several patrol squads she fought into the archives. Upon entering she would not see anyone and a feeling of dread would come over her until Liara came bursting forth from a duct. Catching the Cerberus agents with a singularity she would then shoot both of them with ease and drop down to greet Shepard and Ashley Williams who accompanied Shepard to the archives. They then made there way through the Archives to find the blueprints to a Prothean super weapon they dubbed 'The Crucible'. Running into a cyborg entity 'Eva' they chased and fought her til she reached a shuttle and was about to take off. From nowhere on orders from Shepard her shuttle pilot JAmes Vega would come in and crash into the other shuttle damaging it. The group would close in and Ashely would take point only to get injured by the robot to the point of near death. Shepard and Liara would unload into the robot until it stopped moving. Shepard would pick up Ashley's body and bring her back to the Citadel for medical treatment.
Once on the Citadel Commander Shepard would stand before the Council and basically yell at them telling them she was right. All those years ago she was correct and now the whole galaxy would have to pay the price for their inaction on the subject. It was time for them to band together or die as individuals. The council agreed with her, but would not pledge any resources to retaking Earth quite yet. Afterwards she was pulled aside by the Turian Councilor and told to head to the moons of Palaven, rescue their primarch and get help from him. So Shepard completed a few odd jobs on the Citadel gaining support where she could for the war and then headed out to the moons of Palaven. Landing on the moon she would find the turian encampment finding out the old primarch was dead and she was to head out and rescue the new primarch who was a general defending a flank position. So she fought her way there with a returning partner in crime Garrus Vakarian who knew the best path across the no mans land. Finding the turian he had a single request go and get the krogans assistance. So Shepard left the moon with the primarch and headed to pick up Urdnot Wrex the head of the Tuchanka's krogan.
The Krogan had a simple soloution then they would join the war and assist the Turians, and that was to cure the genophage. Shepard twisted arms and managed to find Mordin Solus who had been working on a cure and believed he had the cure ready to go. Helping the doctor escort a fertile female krogan off of Sar'Kesh the salarian homeworld she got into a running firefight with Cereberus who was attempting to kill the female to stop the krogan from entering the war. Fighting them off they returned to Tuchanka and Mordin came through with the cure. Running in a constant battle against a solitary Reaper that had landed on the planet Shepard would eventually activate two large Thresher Maw hammers summoning the legendary Thresher Maw Mother 'Kalros'. The massive Thresher Maw would coil around crushing the Reaper and clearing the way to the Shroud Facility where Mordin sacrifices himself to distribute the cure for the genophage across all of Tuchanka. With this done Shepard gained the trust of both the Krogan and the Turian people and military. Who pledged to be there for the battle against the Reapers on Earth.
After returning to the Citadel and doing more odds and ends to shore up more supplies for the war she would head back out on a mission to the Attican Traverse to assist a krogan specialist team. The target was the old homeworld of the Rachni as the Rachni Relay had some interesting information that possible that the Rachni had returned. Landing on the planet she was greeted by Grunt the krogan who had traveled with her to defeat the Collectros three months earlier. Fighting down through slews of Reaper mutated rachni to the very core of the hive they ran into the Rachni Queen herself. Telling Shepard that the Reapers had come and twisted her offspring and pledging to make good on the promise she made Shepard back on Noverria to fight them if she was let go. That is was Shepard did she would not doom a race to extinction for past mistakes. Returning to the Normandy she would have a terrible nightmare about the child she was unable to save on Earth. This is second time she was haunted by these dreams, and it would not be the last.
Upon flying back to the Citadel she realized something was wrong. There was no answer from the comms or the docks. Hearing from Thane that the Citadel was under attack from Cerberus Shepard takes a team in to rescue the council from the obvious Cerberus death traps. Dropping right outside of C-Sec HQ she manages to save the life of Commander Bailey who helps her through the building. Upon reaching the salarian councilor he would be attacked by an assassin by the name of Kai Leng. That is when Thane arrives and stops the assassination attempt but not before telling the team where to go to find the other councilors. Moving as fast as they could Shepard and her team catch up to them as the where about to leave in Udina's shuttle. Shepard manages to convince Ashley that she was not behind any of this and was coming up here to save the Council. When Udina made a move to attack the other councilors Shepard did not hesitate and shot the man dead in his tracks.
As she helped the Citadel rebuild some she would receive a transmission from the Quarian Admirals. They needed assistance as they have attempted to retake their homeworld only to be stopped by Reaper controlled Geth. Curious as to what happened to Legions intentions to turn the Geth into fighting the Reapers she would head out and meet the Quarian leadership. She was surprised when they introduced Tali in as an admiral as the last time she had been with her people Shepard had argued for her to stay in the fleet. So they would fight into a large Geth Dreadnaught that was defending and holding position over the planet. Infiltrating it alongside Tali and Liara she would fight in and expose the core. Showing the frame of her old squadmate Legion who left the device after being released by Shepard from its grasp. With the assistance of Legion Shepard would succeed in taking down the Dreadnaught. Afterwards she would assist in taking down a squadron of Geth fighters and recovering many high level geth prime units. Sending them to assist on the Crucible they woudl receive word as to a crashed admiral's location. She would rescue Admiral Koris from a Geth attack and he would help keep the Quarian Civilian Forces together inside the protection of the fleet main fleet.
Then came what they had all come to Rannoch to do, reclaim the homeworld for the Quarian people. So they would have to take down a Reaper Base that is holding the Geth in orbit from obeying Legions commands. Fighting through the base to a location Shepard would paint the target for a bombing run on the target. When the attack occurred it was revealed that the base was not really a base. It was a Reaper in disguise. With this revelation she would stand on a cliff nearby and target the Reaper for a full bombardment on the Reaper. Dodging its laser once and then twice the targeting laser would paint the weak spot. Upon locking on the Normandy alongside the entire Quarian flotilla would unload upon the Reaper. Taking it down in a hail of cannon fire. The Reaper woudl taunt Shepard as it slowly was deactivated. As soon as it was over Shepard allowed Legion to upload his consiousness to the other Geth. Talking down the Quarian fleet Shepard managed to get both the Quarians and Geth to work together in both their home planet and in the upcoming war on the Reapers. At the end of this Tali rejoined the Normandy's crew and would assist Shepard directly the rest of her mission against the Reapers.
Whenever Shepard finished the situation and gained the combined resources of the Geth and Quarian people she was summoned back to the Citadel by the asari councilor. She would meet the councilor in the former human councilors office. She was informed that there was something on the Asari homeworld of Thessia that she should go see. IT was a PRothean Beacon within a Temple dedicated to their oldest goddess. Liara insisted upon coming along with this mission as it was her home and she wished to be there. When they entered the system she saw something she had hoped she wouldnt. Thessia was burning. The Reapers had made it there first. A hurried rush started building up within Shepard. She had to get to this beacon and activate it and find out what it is she set out to find out. What the Catalyst was and how it could be used. Fighting her way across a bridge, through multiple banshees, Shepard and Liara would arrive at the Temple. Disabling the security they would make it inside rather easily.
After scouting around the area they would find out the activation points for the beacon. Checking every piece of artwork they would slowly activate it. Upon activation Shepard would speak with the VI that was protecting this beacon. She was about to gain the knowledge she came there for when Cerberus made its presence known. Kai Leng was there to take the information and there was nothing Shepard could do to stop it. So a battle commenced directly in front of the beacon. They where evenly matched until a Cerberus gunship stepped in giving Kai Leng the advantage. Destroying the floor beneath Shepard they nearly killed her but she hung unto a platform of cement and climbed out as Kai Leng walked away victorious. Out of range of her gun Shepard would fire blindly at him missing him wildly as he vanished into the Thessian sky. AS she looked she would see more Reapers dropping from orbit down onto the planets surface. Shepard would collapse forward onto her knees and stare out at the destruction for a minute before Liara would shake her out of her stupor and they would get shuttle evacuated out of there. On the trip back and when she spoke to the Asari councilor she felt a deep sense of failure. A feeling she had not felt since Eden Prime just two years earlier.
No sooner had she stopped speaking with the councilor than she decided to check in on Liara. As she knew how hard it was to see her home burn so she could sympathize with Liara at this moment. Entering her quarters she would see Liara sitting on her bed obvious tears upon her face. Walking over to her Shepard would sit down on the bed beside Liara. Without saying anything Shepard would put her arms around Liara and say one simple thing. "I am sorry Liara.... I am so sorry." Her voice would be full of regret and internal strife over the conflicting feelings she had. There was a part of her that just wished to run away from all of this. Yet there was a part of her that screamed to stay and finish this fight through til the end. Though at this moment she just wished to be there for Liara. After they both spoke Shepard would leave the room and head up find a suspicious email. It was from Oriana Lawson Miranda's sister. Something about Sanctuary being a Cerberus cover base. Shepard would contact Hackett with this news and would agree to finish off Cerberus once and for all.
Heading to Horizon once again was bittersweet for Shepard. There she had fought the Collectors just a few short months earlier. Now she was back and she was going to clean this place of Cerberus once and for all. Fighting into the Sanctuary building she would run into recording from Miranda Lawson. They explained what was going on in there. Luckily for her on the last trip to the Citadel Shepard had warned her that Kai Leng was fully operational and might be coming for her. So Miranda was able to defend herself for long enough so that Shepard could fight her way through the Cerberus created Reaper troops. Fighting up to there she would find out Kai Leng had ran away but Miranda's father was holding Oriana hostage. Shepard agreed to let him go if he handed over Oriana but the moment she was away from him Miranda would throw him through the safety glass and to his death.
Handing over to Shepard a tracking device Shepard thanked Miranda and knew this was it. It was time to finish off Cerberus and then focus on the Reapers as they where the real threat the entire time. After speaking with Admiral Hackett who told Shepard that when they attacked the base they would have to begin the end of this war Shepard would nod to him. Understanding completely what was at stake Shepard would retire to her quarters. Sitting up there Shepard began reflecting on what was going on in the galaxy and what all was riding on this mission succeeding when there was a digital knock at her door. Through the door came Liara. The two of them began to talk about the war and what the outcome may be. After a few minutes of that she was reminded of what she had promised Liara before she went through the Omega 4 relay. To come back, retire and have many blue babies. Remembering saying that to Liara Shepard would grab Liara's hand tightly and tell her. "We will get through this Liara... We will see that future I promised you... And I love you Liara." They both confessed their love to one another and yet again they shared a night together. This time however Shepard would awaken from the same terrible recurring dream she had been having. This time though she had Liara to ease her mind after waking up. With a smile on her face she would give Liara a kiss than start getting ready for this final battle.
Then came the attack on the base. With the Fifth Fleet there to distract the main Cerberus cruisers Shepard snuck aboard the station with EDI and Liara. There they fought through wave after wave of Cerberus troopers until making it to the very core of the station. There she found the room she had found herself in while talking to the Illusive man during her time working with him. Sitting in his chair she would begin diving into the records to find what she needed only to be interrupted by the Illusive Man, and after some back forth Kai Leng would appear. This time there would be no running, and no mercy was shown. Shepard would fight him killing any Cerberus Troopers that would get between her and Kai Leng. After shooting him down she would sit back down in the Illusive Man's chair and pull up the information she needed. As she did so Kai Leng would attempt to kill her. Dodging his attack she would allow him the honor of meeting her omniblade. With a "This is for Thane you son of a bitch." She would kill Kai Leng without a second thought.
Pulling the data from the VI she realized that it was the Citadel that was the Catalyst for the Crucible. Telling Hackett this they where interrupted by Anderson who told them that the Citadel was over Earth and in order to do their plan they would have to enter some Conduitesque device the Reapers had constructed. So the destination was set, head to London England and defeat the Reapers there. So they gathered all the fleets of the galaxy into the largest armada in the history of galactic civilization. They all relayed in and started moving toward Earth. In the greatest space battle ever the Reapers would run into the full might of the galactic armada. Many Reapers and many vessels where destroyed as the Normandy flew in and launched Shepard and her entire team down to Earth. The shuttle pilot would return to the Normandy as soon as he had dropped them off. Fighting through many husks, cannibals, and marauders Shepard would take down a Hades Canon. Then she would get reunited with Admiral Anderson for the first time in months. After a brief run through of whats goign on Shepard was allowed a moment to speak to each member of the squad. Which she did one at a time including those that where not there in person. After the plan was set right Shepard would gather her team and give her final speech as the commanding officer. Then came the fight for all their lives. Garrus and Liara accompanied her down into the streets and through the buildings of Earth until they reached a pair of missle batteries. The first shot off and missed wildly. The second after heavy heavy resistance was fired and took down a Reaper Dreadnaught.
Regrouping at the top of a hill Shepard would catch her breath with Admiral Anderson and others that had made it there. As the final charge was about to begin Shepard would see Harbinger land and in an almost taunting manner begin shooting at each of the vehicles, people, anything that moved inside the area. Unknown to Shepard was that her teammates had not followed her and she had charged ahead without any backup. That is when she would be hit with a glancing blow from Harbringer and in her mind the truth and reality split. As she awoke with a Carnifex in her hand and she would make her way toward the beam. Taking down a few husks and then a final marauder before making it inside. Once inside the Citadel she would be confronted by Anderson and the Illusive Man. The Illusive Man was fully indoctrinated and was attempting to do that same with Shepard. It worked as she fired a single shot into Andersons gut and the Illusive Man after some persuading would blow himself away. Shortly after this event the Citadel would open, the Crucible would connect with the station. It would not fire so Shepard would try and activate the mechanism. She would collapse before the console and be lifted into a new area. An AI disguised at the young child would appear before Shepard. There she would be given three choices the first was to attempt control of the Reapers, the second was to combine all organic and inorganic life in the galaxy, the final option was to destroy all inorganic life in the galaxy. Shepard was conflicted her heart twisted in knots but knowing that anything less than the destruction of the Reapers would bring them back to the galaxy. So she would move slowly toward the destroy the Reapers option. As she walked up to the power conduit she would close her eyes and say "I am sorry Liara... I guess I will have to break my promise to give you those lil blue children..." The words would be spoken and she would walk forward with each bullet she would see people from her life she was saving. Joker, Ashley, Garrus, Wrex, Eve, Jacob, Miranda, Jack, Grunt, Javik, James, Everyone else she had met, and lastly as she the bullet left her gun and impacted with the tube she saw Liara's smiling face in front of her. The force of the explosion would knock her off her feet and stuff would crumble down upon her. But to Shepard she would be able to die happy as she had saved Liara's life allowing her to live a happy long life.
That would not be the end of the Commander though as she would feel a sharp breath of air enter her lungs and she would be found underneath rubble a few minutes later by Liara T'Soni. Being dragged from the rubble and taken to the closest medical station in her charred and disfigured armor Shepard was lucky to be alive. During the trip back unconsiously she would speak out Liara's name as if she was stuck in an endless dream that she was never to awaken from...
Roleplay Example
A loud crash, a pressing almost crushing feeling spreading over Shepards body. Then came the familiar warm gushing feeling of blood escaping a wound. Struggling she tried to reach her omni tool but could not reach it. So there would be no using Medi Gel and fixing this wound until more help could be reached. As her mind slowly started to slip from the blood loss she would feel the crushing be removed from her body. Then came a few muffled voices, two in particular she recognized. Moving her arm she attempted to reach for them. Feeling on her arm a pair of strong hand she heard a man with a thick accent say. "I got ya Lola stay with us..."
Weakly Shepard would look up her face caked in her own blood and dirt. Her eyes would be slowly closing and she would see Liara. A faint smile would creep onto her face before she would pass out into the blackness that was soon to be a nightmare filled hell for Shepard. While in her mind she was stuck in that forest of despair her body was fighting hard to stay alive. Dr Chakwas and Dr Michel both worked on her feverishly fixing the massive internal injuries Shepard had taken. So there she laid on a bed for several months every now and again she would stir but nothing came of it until one night two months after the final battle agains the Reapers.
First her hand twitched once, then twice. Then her eyelids slowly opened and she saw the darkened interior of her hospital room. She felt the soft blankets over her form. Then it hit her the dull pain of her entire body screaming at her. Gritting her teeth she would grimace and slowly and gingerly sit up. Scanning the room she would notice that she was alone within what looked like a recovery room. Her head ached from this so she began to search for something. Looking around she would find a call a nurse button and depress it. A VI voice would emit from the bed. "What is it you require Commander Shepard?"
"I would like... to notify some people... That I am awake. First bring me something to drink my mouth feels quite dry... Then could you contact... Liara T'Soni. Then if there is anyone from the records that where on the Normandy with me nearby. Contact them as well." As Amaliana spoke it was tough at first as her throat was sore from no use, but slowly loosened up. The Vi chirped back in an understanding tone then vanished. Shepard then would lean back into the bed thankful to be alive after what she went through."
