Shepard had given this a lot of thought in the days since she had awoken. After sleeping and getting the ok from her doctors she told the VI to contact a reporter she had owed an interview. It had shocked the reporter Emily Wong that Shepard had requested her come and visit the hospital she was in and conduct the interview. Cutting off any questions until the interview was to occur Shepard would of spent the day attempting to stand or at least get out of bed.
Her still healing legs made that impossible without any assistance. The doctors had been in several times that day. Each time they would test the broken bones that Shepard had accrued through the fights of the last few years. Each had reset almost perfectly and most where healed so her injuries where no longer anything other than a minor nuisance for the Commander.
In between doctor visits she was bombarded with messages and calls from former crew, well wishers, and several higher ranking members of the different galactic governments. Each wished her a speedy recovery, there where a couple of officials that where offering up ceremonies to the Commander once she was better as she was the one who had united them all into a singular force that beat the Reapers alongside the use of the Crucible.
Then in her downtime when not bothered by anything she would rest and regain her strength. About fourty minutes before Emily Wong was to report to the room Shepard would try and stand up from the bed once again. This time instead of stumbling or almost falling over she would find he footing to be wobbly but strong. Having to hold onto her bed she would slowly make her way around to a small sink. After cleaning up her face and making an attempt at her hair she would hear a knock at the door.
"It is open come on in."
Shepard would speak cleanly and clearly as she would hobble back to a pair of chairs that had been brought in for the occasion. Hearing Emily Wong enter as she did so she did not attempt to hide just how hurt she had been. Taking a seat she would wait for the first question to be brought up.

Emily Wong had awaited this day as you could tell as she enters the room in something of a rush. Looking the part of a reporter she would have a camera floating behind her. Watching your movements she would speak toward Shepard.
"Still injured there Shepard? You do not need to answer that. I have a set of questions I would like for you to answer as soon as I turn this camera on..."
REaching down to her omni-tool she would activate the camera. Speaking up she would begin the interview.
"Hello this is Citadel Newsnet and I am Emily Wong with an exclusive. Today I have been granted access to Commander Shepard who invited me here. So today I give you the first exclusive interview with Commander Shepard since the battle on Earth. Here are the facts as they are all my faithful audience. Commander Shepard was the one spearheading the Hammer ground battle alongside human admiral Donald Anderson. She was there during the final push against the Reaper main force."
Taking a moment to catch her breath she would continue.
"There are many who question what has occurred upon that place in London. So Commander whenever you are ready we shall begin."
Waiting for the go ahead she would speak up once again after hearing it.
"Alright the first question that would be on the minds of the watchers and listeners of this program is. How badly where you injured Commander? From what I and most others gathered you where near death when found on Earth. Second, what did you witness as one of the few to survive that direct Hammer assault? Thirdly, Did anything unusual occur to you after being struck by that beam and debris on Earth? Fourthly, How are you faring now? Lastly and I hope you do not mind how this sounds but there are many who wish to know the answer to this 'trashy' question. There are rumors floating around the Citadel and Galactic Space, thanks to Diana Allers that you and your good friend Dr. Liara T'Soni are more than good friends? Will you confirm or deny this?"

Shepard would sit upon the chair and would squirm a little bit. This was the first time she had ever sat down for a formal interview of any sort and it was more unnerving to her than facing down the Reapers. Taking a deep breath as she heard the reporter turn on the camera Shepard would put on a smile and would listen to her introduction. Her nerves where shot at listening to the long opening she was given as if she was someone important. To her she had done nothing of note, nothing that someone in her position would not of done.
Listening to her open the floor to Shepard to speak all the commander would do is give her a simple nod of her head and a simple. "Go ahead Emily." With that spoken she would listen to each of the questions. At first she did not mind the simple questions, but when it got to the 'trashy' question at the end Shepard would feel the blood rush from her face. It was the first time someone had outright asked her about her and Liara's relationship. Not wishing to say anything out of line she would wait til the end to speak about it. Opening her mouth she would begin to answer the questions.
"Well Emil first it is good to see you made it through the war without being any worse for wear. As for myself, you wish to know of my injuries? Well from what I was told... I had broken my femur, collarbone, radius, ulna bones on my left side. Punctured my lung with several ribs, and had massive internal bleeding from several other wounds. I was told I was as close to death as one could be without actually dieing..."
As she spoke she would wring her hands against one another. It felt bad for her to recount all of this as she felt it was her own fault that this all occurred. So she would continue to answer the questions.
"What I witnessed during that final assault? I saw the bravest group of Krogan, Human, Turian, Batarian, Quarian, Geth, and Asari I could of ever hoped to see. Harbringer was relentless and was using its lasers to cut down everything in the area... It was horrific, but there was hope that if we could make it the war would end. So we pushed ourselves as hard as we could. The last thing I remember from the attack is having the beam come right at me and then nothing. Black nothing covered all of my senses. The next thing I realized hearing and seeing was two people that I had worked with pulling rubble off of me and pulling me to safety. Then I remember awakening here on the Citadel several days ago."
Then she came to that final question that had been asked. In her mind she twisted and agonized over what all to say and what not to say. Closing her eyes for a split second she would listen to her mind and what she would assume Liara would say in this situation. She knew that she could not hide their relationship forever and it would someday come out that the two of them had comforted one another in each others darkest time. Swallowing she would open her eyes, the color returning to her face.
"Well that last question of yours... I must say that is one I qould expect from Al-Jilani not yourself Ms. Wong, but I will humor you and give you answer. You have asked if me and my friend Liara T'Soni have something more than the average friendship? I would say that we do, as we have been through all sorts of hellish things with one another. I was there the day her mother died on Noverria. She was there for me, finding my near dead body in an Omegan Hospital and returning me to people who helped rebuild my shattered remains. Then we where there for one another throughout the war against the Reapers. She was the only person I could unload onto during the entire war... I was there for her after the fall of Thessia..."
As she spoke she felt more and more confident in what she was going to say. She would mean every word of it so she would just open up and allow the galaxy to know. Looking directly at Emily Wong she would put on a rather large smile and continue speaking.
"If these things would not bring two people close together than nothing would Emily. So if your question is Is Dr. T'soni better than a friend to me? The answer to that is yes. She is the one who I fought this war over so fiercely. Having those you love with your heart and soul be so close at hand during times of immense stress and pressure helps. So I shall say this for the final time. Yes Liara and I are more than friends..."

"Thank you for your time Commander." Emily Wong would say as she shut down the camera beside her. With a nod she would leave the room and head back to edit and release the footage of the interview in a few days.
{{This thread is now open for others to post character reaction to the interview should you choose to.}}

Location:: Briar's Pvt Apartment Time:: Morning(ish) Blue gave the vid about three breaths of attention before she rolled her eyes heavenward and returned to toweling her hair dry. Even in the privacy of the apartment she had rented on Citadel, you couldn't escape the news feeds. She listened in silence, only realizing as the interviewed party began to talk WHO the woman was actually interviewing.
Towel around her neck, Briar shoved fingers back threw the damp, blue locks and focused on the vidscreen on the wall. So this was 'THE Shepard' huh? Blue had only seen the fabled Spectre from a distance as they had prepared for the final push in London; not close enough to see her face or more then the back of her armor, really. It was nice to have a face to 'technically' go with the name.
For the most part, Blue nodded approvingly. It was good to let the people know it hadn't been a blasted cakewalk that final push - Blue for some reason was slightly miffed that Anderson hadn't been brought up in the topic, but it wasn't Blue's place to scold the likes of Shepard on interview style.
The last part though.... Blue didn't even hear the whole reply before turning away with a frown. Whether the woman had a relationship or not was one thing, but the Alliance Network was not the place to air it. She shook her head, gripping the towel and pulling it up over her ears to rub at the tossed blue hair again.
Not placed well at all. Shepard should have told her to shove that question. Dropped the whole interview from a decent personal reflection on the lives lost to the Reapers to a equivalent of a gossip show. No one would remember anything in the talk now except that the famed Spectre was now probably shackin' up with the new Council Rep for the Asari.
Ugh... what a mess. Blue didn't envy either of them when this started to fester in the political standings.
(lol, okay that was little snarky but fun to write. Glad its technically 'private' though)
