Personality: Drake always had a problem with holding his tongue, even if it was with his squad leader and officers. He is hard headed, strong willed, and protective of those he is put into a squad with. During the Reaper invasion, he helped save civilians and suppress reaper forces with his squad. He is like a fierce in battle, putting himself ahead of the others to help save as many as he can which does get him into quite a bit of trouble. To his enemies he will show little mercy, but to his friends he is playful and laid back. He likes it this way...mainly because he knows a Joke can ease tensions and keep things from escalating. He gives respect where it is due, someone like Anderson or Hackett he holds in high regards. Overall, he has great leadership skills, a cool head in combat that is able to make calculating decisions and plans which helped him gain his N7 status.
History:
Born on the planet Earth into a family with Military history, moved around constantly due to parents deployment.
Home schooled by tutors instead of attending public schools.
During his childhood he took great interested in ships and aircraft, always seen with books about flight and aviation.
At age Thirteen, his mother and father brought him aboard the Frigate there were assigned and showed him around to give him an idea what kind of life they lived, this helped him set his mind upon his future.
Lost his father during the Skyllian Blitz, causing his family to have their worlds shaken and their goals questioned. Drake however stayed strong through this and upon his Eighteenth birthday joined the Alliance Military.
Joining the Alliance military, he was shipped off to boot camp where it was apparent he had a problem with following orders in certain exercises, mainly ones where firefights were simulated because he often found himself getting taken out by going back to rescue a soldier who was already tagged out.
Eventually he graduated from the Boot camp with high recommendations in Sharpshooting, piloting, and hacking. He was sent out on duty three days after on board an Alliance frigate.
Most of the time spent in his early military career was spent dealing with mercenary groups like the Blue suns and the Blood pack. Very few encounters did he ever run into the Geth, and those were usually the worst of it.
During the attack on the Citadel by Sovereign, He was on board one of the frigates that was attacking the Geth ships there, and he was actually in a fighter attacking geth ships when Shepard had defeated the large Reaper.
During the years the followed after Shepard's death, his actions during the battle of the Citadel gained Drake a promotion to join the ranks of the N7.
During the Collectors incident, Drake joined a N7 Squad under the command of Lieutenant Flint Jennings, and was assigned to check and gather data on different colonies that were struck and otherwise attacked by the Collectors.
Only a few times did the squad itself ever run into the collectors, and one of the times was nearly a curtain call for them thanks to running into a well placed ambush. Luckily Flint had kept a clear head and was able to get everyone he could out. Drake had suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder and a few bruises as well.
The group itself was stationed back on Earth for some R&R when the reaper invasion hit, and under the command of Admiral Anderson, had stayed to help fight and save as many people as they could.
The time on the planet itself was long, horrible, and grueling. Flint and the others had gathered a few more people that had formed into a resistance, including Flint's sister. Flint, Drake, and Briar [who liked to be called Blue] grew close together as friends even if Briar was a bit stand offish time to time.
During one operation, his unit was given a gunship to use as a decoy while another unit went into Reaper occupied territory to rescue any civilians still trapped and left behind. Drake was put in the pilot seat and set about the task but nearly met his end when he was attacked by a Harvester. Though he managed to take the thing down, it landed a solid hit of the tail of the aircraft and sent it out of control into a ruined building. Drake survived the ordeal as the others dragged him out but he spent the next day off his feet until he recovered.
It was during the time that Shepard came with the fleet that he actually managed to see the legendary woman herself, it was when an army of husks started to charge the barricade and she had to take the mounted gun. He watched her take down multiple husks with great precision and accuracy before another soldier came and replaced her on the turret once it subsided.
During the final push against the reapers, his unit was helping sweep through against reaper ground forces when they came under fire and Flint had been taken down and was seriously injured but alive. Once Shepard had destroyed the Reapers, the unit had brought the injured Flint back to their base of operations to be looked over.
During the two months that followed after the fall of the Reapers, Drake had been promoted to Sergeant and took leave from his unit to help with the clean up at Earth. He is currently in charge of the N7 unit until Flint Jennings is fully recovered and operational
Roleplay Sample:
Three days, three days on this god forsaken hell hole and all three of them were on his own. Perry was already pissed off by the lack of sleep, the mountains were so uncomfortable and the constant fear of waking up with a giant split jawed behemoth finding him there asleep woke him several times during his short sleeping period. Not only that but he ran into his share of covenant while on his travel, though they weren't too much.'Probably because of the crash site...to which I hope I'm fucking near it.'He was fed up with this scenery...a nice flat piece of land would be so great right now, least then he wouldn't have to worry about slipping then. So...he removed the Rifle from his back, took a deep breath and carried on, feeling that something would change.
Sure enough, as soon as he cleared another climb up a decent sized up-rise, his eyes feasted upon one of the greatest sights he had seen since he landed there.“YEEES! OH MY GOD!”, he exclaimed inside of his helmet as he looked around with his macro's, making sure that he wasn't walking out to get his head blown off by something that could have been waiting for him. Once he was satisfied and the knot in his stomach had lessened a bit, he carefully worked his way down to the flat ground and crouched down, placing his hand atop of it with a grin that could match a little kid that had gotten the greatest gift he had ever gotten for his birthday. Now...Perry wasn't a religious man in the least but he could help but make an air cross in front of him, while adding the words,“Oh thank you Jesus...if I make it out of here my ass will be in church someday.”
Perry sat there like that, for about thirty seconds before he started walking again, the grin still on his face as took each step. Even though at that moment his stomach let out a low growl, telling him he needed to eat something soon to help quell it. It was then that he saw the first signs of what he was looking for, crates and boxes from the Pelican stowed about here and there.“Well...I guess this is a good thing. Just hope this means I’m going to find someone soon.”, he said as the grin left his face. Before he could say anything else though, he heard an explosion, one that was quite close in fact and then gun fire.
Perry hustled towards the sounds of combat, rifle held tight in his hands as he came to what appeared to be a canyon that had been the source of the noise. He would have stepped out to further explore it but something caught the corner of his eye which made his withdraw back behind one of the crates that was scattered about. Perched along the edge of it were four Jackals, squawking and firing from what he saw was a combination of a two beam rifles as well as two carbines. To make matters a bit worse was the two elites standing up their with them, brandishing their own carbines. One appeared to be an Ultra, the other a Major which meant that whoever was down in that canyon was getting the hell kicked out of them and needed help fast. He had to do something and since they hadn't noticed his presence he thought of the best plan of action.
He moved, crouched down and low to help minimize the chance of them seeing him as he traveled back away from the Canyon, putting a bit of distance between him and the group before he followed his plan through. He went prone, the ground was wet and muddy and it didn't take too long for him to get adjusted before he starting running through his thought process.'Okay...first step align the scope and adjust zoom accordingly.', he thought to as he aimed down the rifle's scope, the Night vision cutting on while it zoomed to its X10 function.'Next pick your target...', to which he moved his scope over the back of the Ultra's head, making sure to aim around the base of the neck.'...then like that fucker up.'
With that his finger edged over the trigger of the gun and taking in a deep breath, he slowly exhaled as it before his finger squeezed the trigger, the rifle recoiling as the round ripped through the air and rain before finding its target the large Alien toppling forward and over the cliff and out of sight. The next shot would prove to be a bit more challenging, his scope moving back towards the group after taking a moment to readjust the rifle and his aim. The group was obviously alerted that someone was picking them off but it seemed thanks to the rain and the distance, along with being prone, kept him hidden. He moved his cross hair over the remaining elite, who was moving around along the canyon's edge, trying to find out where the shot had come from. Keeping aim steady and finger patient till the Elite came to a stop and went to turn around, to which he received a round straight through the center of the back that also sent him over the edge of the cliff. He repeated the process for the Jackals there were on the cliff as well, pausing only to switch magazines for the rifle when it ran out.
He quickly stood up and bolted, moving as fast as he could with the rifle in hand towards the canyon to whomever was in the canyon over watch. When he looked down, he saw what was left of the Pelican for the most part, and that the covenant squads down there were shooting towards the Cockpit which told Perry that the Pilots were possibly alive. Wasting no more time than he already had, Perry quickly crouched and took aim with his rifle, aiming for the first creature he saw before he pulled the trigger.'Whoever you are down there...you better have some food for this shit.', he said, before adjusting his aim a moment or two after the shot to take another.
